Limited vinyl press of mark william lewis's critically acclaimed EPs ‘Pleasure Is Everything’ and ‘God Complex’ double sided vinyl. mark william lewis moved to the 18th floor of a tower block in London in 2021. The view changed everything. Looking down at the city from that height gave his music a new quality: cinematic, slightly removed, deeply attentive to ordinary things. Both EPs came out of that window. Pleasure Is Everything arrived in late 2021, God Complex followed in April 2022. Two records made in a flat above London, released digitally, absorbed by a small and dedicated audience. Scenic Route Records pressed them together for the first time in September 2024. Edition of 150 copies on black vinyl, with a translucent emerald tour edition of 100 pressed separately for his US run alongside NYC rapper MIKE. The reference points that get thrown around are Dean Blunt and Tirzah, which is accurate but undersells how plainly emotional this music is. Left field pop, slowcore, ambient, folk. Sold-out nights at Cafe Oto. Pitchfork and The Fader paying attention.
